He even told me he might “disappear” and just wanted to give me a heads-up which made me think even more that his wife might be involved.

But here’s the weird part: he actually has his own page with content for subscribers. So I’m like… wait, if you’re scared of your wife finding out, why would you create your own page in the first place? It makes no sense!

Even though it wasn’t part of the original question, I just wanted to share that 95% of my subscribers are from the U.S. and Canada, and almost all of them found me through Reddit. For me, it’s been the most effective platform to connect with a North American audience.

Let me share what I’ve learned from my journey – I’ve been doing this for about a year and a half. I’ve tested promoting on Instagram, TikTok, X, and Reddit using tracking links to see where my subs were coming from. I even took a break from Reddit for about three months just to see what would happen.

Here’s what I’ve found: I got a lot of subs from Instagram and TikTok, but those platforms have really strict AI moderation, and the subs I got from there rarely turned into paying fans. Most of the people who say they go viral on those platforms? Honestly, they’re likely exaggerating or not being entirely truthful, so don’t stress over view counts.

Reddit has been the most effective for me when it comes to actual paying subs. I post in niche subreddits and ones specifically for OF. I don’t get tons of upvotes, and that’s okay. A lot of big upvote numbers come from bots anyway. Still, I consistently get 50–100 new subs per week from Reddit, and even though only a portion of them convert to paying fans, that small percentage is what brings in real income.

It took me a few months to figure out what works, but with consistency and effort, it does pay off. Keep going, you’ve got this!

  5. A few viral videos can definitely give you a quick boost in subscribers, but that’s pretty rare. For most creators, reaching 1,000 subs takes months of consistent effort and patience.

Hey there! First off, I just want to say I believe you, and congratulations on your amazing start!

I had a pretty similar experience when I joined OF. I already had a decent following and casually tweeted something like, “Well, just joined OF – guess it’s time to start house hunting.” That one post alone shot me into the top <1% almost immediately.

That said, I want to offer a bit of friendly advice. I don’t know what kind of audience you had before or what content you were creating, but be careful not to assume that the income you’re seeing now will always stay the same. The buzz around a new creator can be strong, but it can fade quickly if not managed well.

It’s important to keep your fans interested and engaged—but not overwhelmed. If you’re not regularly attracting new subscribers beyond your original fanbase, you may start hearing things like “what else can you do?” or “go further,” which can be frustrating or even disheartening. Please don’t let that pressure push you past your boundaries – you’re in control of what you share.

I’m sharing this not to discourage you, but to help you plan ahead and think strategically about sustaining your growth. Wishing you continued success – you’re doing great!

  9. You might want to try ManyVids as another way to earn some passive income. It takes a little extra effort upfront to create strong previews and covers, but once a video is posted, there’s not much else to do. If you already have a lot of content, you can start small and just upload a few videos each week, like I did, and gradually build your store. It’s great for reaching people who don’t use OF or are looking for specific types of content.
