I’m not sure if I still count as a BBW, but during my first three years as a creator, I definitely was. Looking back, if I could do things differently, I would’ve focused more on niche subreddits — especially tummy, feeder, and stuffer communities — instead of wasting time on TikTok. That platform is extremely fatphobic, and even using the word “BBW” can get you banned.
Instagram is hit or miss, but I think it’s still worth using. I’d focus on body-positive content there — it tends to perform really well, especially for plus-size or midsize creators. Even now, after losing some weight, I still find that body-positive posts help boost views.
Most of my income used to come from fans requesting feeder content. These days, I’ve become more organized with promotion and marketing, and I’m making about three times more than I did before — though I also fit a bit more into traditional beauty standards now.
That’s not to discourage anyone, but it’s important to be honest. The less you align with society’s beauty norms, the harder it can be to get views — and views matter when it comes to making money. I often hear people say that body shape doesn’t matter, but I wish someone had been upfront with me about the reality from the start.
