I’m looking for advice from other creators with free accounts. I post PPV content on my wall and through messages, but I’ve noticed that many of my subscribers haven’t spent a single dollar. Some have been subscribed for months without unlocking any content, tipping, or even opening my messages.
I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth keeping these inactive subs around. On one hand, every subscriber could eventually become a paying customer. But on the other, it feels like I’m wasting time and energy trying to engage people who clearly aren’t interested.
So I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you regularly remove inactive subs from your free page?
And if so, how do you decide who stays and who goes?
Any tips or insights would be really appreciated!
It really depends on your goals, but generally, if your priority is having every subscriber contribute financially, you may want to consider switching to a paid subscription model.
With a free account that relies on PPV content, removing inactive subs doesn’t actually save you any effort – sending out content costs the same whether someone engages or not. Plus, even a previously inactive subscriber might eventually make a purchase, so keeping them gives you that opportunity.
If you’re concerned about freeloaders, the key is to ensure that all valuable content is behind a paywall. That way, you’re not giving anything away for free, and you maintain full control over what people access.
I don’t remove anyone from my free page. If it’s free, they have the right to be there. Even if they’re not paying, they’re still fans who enjoy your content. It might not be polite to remove them just because they haven’t spent money.
Instead of sending too many messages to inactive subs, keep most of your content on your wall and promote your VIP page there. This way, you save time while still keeping the door open for them to support you in the future.
Honestly, free pages can be such a drain. Most of the people who follow just want free content and never plan to spend a dime. Sure, you might get a few buyers here and there, but in my experience, it’s rare. I’ve found it’s way more worth your time to focus on people who want to support you.
